Postby rodbargee » 17 Jun 2014, 21:41

Just going through the oils on my Sugga, engine sorted but what about the G/box and transfer box SAE 90? Also what about the Diffs and swivel hubs ? Old Landrover hubs packed with grease or shouldI try some thing liquid first......

Hubs are normally grease and there is an oil seal on the half shaft to keep oil in the diff from mixing ,i would have thought an 80 or 90 grade hypoid oil should be ok,but i have never found a good mil spec to modern classification translation guide.
How did the rally go? and when is your next one?

Cheers Glynn, I thought the Hypoid 80 / 90 would do the job and grease in the swivel hubs (usually in Landrover terms a failed seal!!)

The rally was good and I found a "short cut" on the way home! Not sure about the next one I'm happy to take it anywhere here-abouts within 40 miles or so.... Suggestions please!
